一般社団法人葉山マリーナヨットクラブ(以下HMYC、日本セーリング連盟特別加盟団体)は、インターナショナルフレンドシップレガッタ2018を2018年9月8日（土）に開催することを発表いたします。 HMYCでは、 2014年度よりセーリング競技が盛んな各国の大使館関係者を中心とした方々を招き、国際親善・ 交流を目的としたヨットレースを開催して参りました。2017年度大会は、 京浜急行電鉄（株）/（株）葉山マリーナーの協賛のもと、 外務省・スポーツ庁・日本セーリング連盟・神奈川県・葉山町からのご後援を得てレースが開催され、 英国大使館チームが優勝しました。 　2020年東京五輪のセーリング競技が行われる海面で ヨットレースが行われ、参加国だけでなく、地域や競技団体・ 協賛企業などとの国際交流が行わるユニークなイベントで、今年は300人以上が参加し盛況でした。

　2018年度大会より、参加選手の帆走技術向上を図る目的で、開催日程を9月8日（土）としました。これにより、参加選手は春から夏にかけてホストチームやクラブメンバーとHMYC主催のセーリングイベントを楽しんだり、ヨットレースの練習を重ねることにより、より安全でエキサイティングなイベントになることでしょう。

葉山マリーナヨットクラブ(HMYC)について：
　1986年に設立された日本セーリング連盟特別加盟団体で、ニッポンカップのホストクラブとして、 過去13回の国際ヨットマッチレースや、近年ではハイレベルなインショアフリートレースを主催しています。 クラブレースが非常に盛んな一方で、フレンドシップレガッタや、 チャリティーセーリングなど社会貢献活動も積極的に行っています。

Hayama Marina Yacht Club (an elite member of the Japan Sailing Federation) is proud to announce that the 2018 International Friendship Regatta will be held on Saturday, the 8th of September 2018.

In support of the sailing sports philosophy to expand the international sailing community and encourage the core values of sportsmanship, friendship and international understanding, we wish to invite members of Japan's expansive Embassy community, friends and family, to join us as we celebrate the Fourth Annual International Friendship Regatta. Event in 2017 would not have been possible without the support of our generous sponsors, including the Keikyu Corporation, Hayama Marina staff, officers and volunteers, the Japan Sailing Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Sports Agency, and the local Kanagawa and Hayama government. With the combined efforts and enthusiasm of our sponsors, volunteers and sailors, Team British Embassy won in 2017.

“As we prepare to host the sailing portion of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, we strive to create a unique and enjoyable event not only in an effort to boost international communication and friendship among participating nations, but also to improve specific areas of sailing as a competitive sport with the support of all interested parties,” said Mr. Hiroto Arakawa, Friendship Regatta Event Chairman.

Next year’s Friendship Regatta is scheduled on 8th September 2018 (Sat.) so each team has a chance to practice more and improve their sailing skills. Embassy teams will be able to enjoy sailing, practice races and other events with their host teams and other club members from early spring to the end of summer. This improvement will ensure that each team is prepared and able to sail safely and have fun! Having more time to practice also allows all sailors to benefit from the skills of their host teams and HMYC sailors.

About Hayama Marina Yacht Club:
In 1986, under the auspices of the Japan Sailing Federation, HMYC became the official Host Club for the Nippon Cup. As such, we have successfully hosted the last 13 International Match Race Competitions. Recently, we've had the pleasure to sponsor additional highly competitive fleet races. Our club features bi-monthly Club Races as well as the International Friendship Regatta and other Charity Sailing Events.
